Skin Care Products
We are pleased to offer our patients a variety of skin care products that can improve the overall health and appearance of your skin. These products can be used alone or as a compliment to a comprehensive skin regimen which may sometimes include prescription medications. The products we offer our patients have been carefully selected from well-known and respected companies who can demonstrate research based results. With consideration of the variety of skin types and conditions that we encounter, we have put together a broad inventory of our preferred products from each category. These includes specific rejuvenation treatments, anti-aging serums, eye creams, cleansers, moisturizers and sun protection products for the face and body. We encourage you to consult with our staff about your specific concerns during your appointment. We are happy to offer the following brands in our office at this time:
Too much exposure to the harmful rays of the sun can not only cause premature aging of the skin, including wrinkles and unsightly spots, but can also increase your risk of skin cancer. It is important to keep in mind that some types of ultraviolet radiation can pass through clouds, fog and even window glass, resulting in long-term negative effects on skin without ever causing a suntan or sunburn. For this reason, we encourage all of our patients to apply sunscreen daily, incorporating this into their morning routine. The general rule is to apply sunscreen 30 minutes before going outside. Because it tends to be broken down over time by the sun, and rubbed or washed off with sweating and water exposure, it should be reapplied at least every two hours when outdoors. At least one ounce (two tablespoons) is needed to cover the entire body surface. Sunscreens should be SPF 30 or higher and labeled broad-spectrum (UVA and UVB) protection. Those that include zinc or titanium as an active ingredient offer the best overall protection.
